October 2007
The project turned into a sort of multimedia journal/scrapbook, capturing (I hope) the awe and admiration for the city I was living in. Admittedly, though, this video takes a darker turn toward the end than I would've liked, due in part to the music and in part to the neighborhoods I was exploring. Basically, I was settling in: the first photos were Soho, the theater, city hall, and Tower Bridge. Soon, though, I wasn't hitting the big attractions, but exploring run down city markets. All of the photos in the movie are presented chronologically. Unsatisfied with the dark turn, and temporarily, at the time, out of pictures, the movie was never actually finished, although it was close.

After taking my first trip back to London since study abroad, I collaged this together in iMovie, and set it to music and added transitions. No editing, no nothin. Simple slideshow. Seeing my best trip photo, of my favorite city, set to the most epic U2 song ever, really brought the trip alive for me. The web-compression really jacked the smoothness of the video, but I lost all these pictures in a back-up fiasco sometime last year, so I'm putting it up here anyway.
